I’m starting the cold crash process for a beer and my BrewPi is telling me that the goto temp for the fridge is -18F, and I’ve got frost forming in the freezer, should I change some settings so that it will get to 40 degrees in a safe manner?
Given that it is a chest freezer, it will be fine with freezing temperatures.
The fridge setpoint will automatically rise when your beer reaches the setpoint.
To speed up the process and prevent frost on the walls, you could add a fan inside the freezer to circulate the air.
Yup, added a fan after I read that in the forums. My fear would be that the beer would bounce below freezing. I switched it last second to Fridge Mode and it evened out:
