Something Going on?

4 days into fermenting a beer and its been holding right at 68 degf until today. It’s like it’s not seeing the 68 deg setpoint. Screen shot.

here is what the Spark is doing… I’ve never seen it blink like this…

I’m at a loss. Thanks

I ran brewblox-ctl log, I restarted the Spark and RaspberryPi but it didn’t change anything.

From the log and the screenshot, it looks like the cooler is active.

Check your PID graph to see what perhaps caused the instability. I suspected it is the D part, because your Td value quite high at 1800s. I would keep Td at zero or a very low value unless you have overshoot. That will give you a smoother PWM setting.

I haven’t touched the tuning since forever and have not seen a change like this. Were you able to look at the display going blank ?? This is new, I’ve never seen this happen before…

I’m finishing up a beer now but I"ll check the tuning change.

So my fermenter is at a point I can play with it. Thinking of doing a fresh install.
I did brewblox-ctl snapshot save and at the end it returned this…

tar: brewblox/victoria/data/small/2025_09: file changed as we read it
Command ‘sudo tar -C /home/pi --exclude .venv -czf …/brewblox-snapshot.tar.gz b
rewblox’ returned non-zero exit status 1.

Do I have a good backup ??

What is the output of:

df -h

Did you get this issue resolved?

No, I have since ordered a new spark for a new fermentation fridge. On to new problems with a fresh install of BrewBlox.

So this is a non issue now…
